A Tanzanian national has died after a vehicle she was travelling in overturned while overtaking another vehicle on Saturday around 0750hrs at Nyasi area before Iponga roadblock.
The deceased has been identified as Asha Luwezga.
Brief facts are that, Mr Steve Mwanjala was driving a Toyota sienta registration number KA9474 from Songwe heading to Karonga direction with six passengers on board.
Upon arrival at Nyasa area, he started overtaking unknown motor vehicle and in cause of overtaking, he lost control of his motor vehicle due to speeding and the vehicle went to far extreme offside of the road where he hit down a tree before it overturned several times and later got burnt to ashes.
Due to the impact, Asha Luwezga died on spot due to severe head injuries whilst the driver and other passengers escaped with minor injuries and were treated as out patients at Karonga District hospital.
The dead body is being kept at Iponga Health centre waiting to be identified by relatives from Tanzania.
