Woman arrested for scorching her biological daughter

Police at Mayani in Dedza have arrested a 39 year old woman for pouring hot ashes at her 14 year old daughter who sustained serious face injuries.

The suspect, Alliya Billy, hails from Chimwele village, Traditional Authority Tambala in the district.

According to the police, the victim allegedly stole K1, 500 meant for food.

Meanwhile, the suspect has been charged with unlawful wounding and she will appear before court soon.
