UTM Councilor Aaron Leonard Chimbanga Eyes for Mayor Position

By Orchestra Kamanga

United Transformation Movement (UTM) Councilor for Soche East Ward Aaron Leonard Chimbanga is lobbying and campaigning for the position of Blantyre City Mayor so that the commercial city of Malawi should develop like how it was in some years ago.

Chimbanga

Speaking in an interview Chimbanga said it’s a time now that the new generation like him can make things work and develop the city to attract more investors.

“They are a lot of challenges within the commercial city such as sewage system, public toilets, parking areas and the city should have councilor’s flats for accommodation,” he said.

Chimbanga further said during the tenature of Noel Chalamanda as Blantyre City Mayor there was a lot of tangible development but after him there is nothing happening so he wants to revamp those development.

“At the city we need sanitation and we need to have councilor’s flats like what is happening in other countries. My plans are to have 6 stores in the city and in Soche East Ward we need to have 50 flats,” he said.

He also said once ushered into power he will work with police to remove streets children and ban handouts so that the children can go to school.

“A part from removing children in the streets I will make urinating in the streets illegal and I will increase streets lights so that people should do their business beyond 6 pm as it is at the moment,” he said.

He therefore urged fellow councilors and Parliamentarians to vote for him for more development.
