Man Dies in Road Accident

A 39-year-old man identified as Harold Tanganyika has died in a road accident in Phalombe after the vehicle he was driving lost control on Saturday.

Phalombe Police Publicist Innocent Moses confirmed the development.

According to Moses, Tanganyika hailed from Makhonja Village in the area of Senior Chief Nazombe in the district.

Moses added that the accident occurred near Chisawa Village along Migowi-Chiradzulu road involving a Toyota Fortuner Registration Number NN 7921.

Moses said the vehicle had five other passengers on board including the driver’s two children and a brother who were coming from overnight prayers in Blantyre and heading to Chiringa.

Moses said the deceased sustained multiple head injuries and was rushed to Migowi Health Center where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

“The other passengers sustained injuries and were rushed to Holy Family Mission Hospital,” he said.
