James Bongololo Vows to Challenge Govt Decision of Installing Mtima Gondwe As New Paramount Chikulamayembe

James Bongololo Gondwe who claims to be the rightful heir of the Chikulamayembe chieftaincy has said he will challenge a decision by government to install Mtima Gondwe as the new Paramount Chikulamayembe.

Yesterday, Minister of Local Government Ben Phiri secretly installed Mtima Gondwe as new Paramount Chikulamayembe amidst protest.

This has angered warring members of the Chikulamayembe clan led by James Bongololo Gondwe who have burnt an office and some houses at the headquarters of the chieftainship.

In his remarks Stowell Gondwe -secretary general of the side of Bongololo Gondwe of the Chikulamayembe chieftainship said the new paramount chief has been installed by Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and not the Tumbuka people.

Gondwe accused DPP of trying to divide Tumbuka people.
