Two Lilongwe City Council accountants arrested

Two accounts officers at Lilongwe District Council have been arrested for alleged theft of deceased funds as well as Other Recurrent Transactions (ORT) amounting to K138.8million (K118.8 million deceased estate for minors and K19.9 million for ORT).

Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development spokesperson Muhlabase Mughogho confirmed of the arrest of the two in an interview with the press.

Mughogho identified the two as Martin Msiska and Charles Chapalapala.

MK113 million was meant for deceased estates and about K19 million for ORT.
