From Vice President to Nobody

Following court’s decision to nullify May 21, 2019 Presidential elections, Everton Chimulirenji has been left as a ‘nobody’ after enjoying the vice president position for only 9 months.

Yesterday, the panel of five judges that presided over the presidential election case delivered their verdict on the case where United Transformation Movement (UTM) President Saulos Chilima and Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi congress Party (MCP) first and second petitioner respectively seek nullification of the presidential polls.

Upon declaring that a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) candidate Peter Mutharika was not duly elected court ordered for a fresh elections to be conducted within 150 days.

According to Potani, positions of the highest offices will be remained prior to elections.
