Minister of Gender, Children and Community Development Mary Navicha has urged Chiefs in Thyolo to sensitize their people on issues surrounding Corona virus.
She said this during a meeting with Chiefs from Thyolo Thava constituency to appreciate some of their concerns and challenges and find possible solutions.
Navicha urged Chiefs to counsel their people on observing basic hygiene methods such as washing their hands regularly and to avoid gathering in large crowds.
“As Chiefs you have a huge responsibility to send the message to your subjects and to make them understand so that they take preventive action,” she said.
On their part, the Chiefs thanked the minister for the message that she shared on corona virus saying it well help alot in case the virus spreads to Malawi.
Meanwile, Malawi has not registered an case of corona virus but preventive measures are being implemented in case the virus spreads to Malawi
