Police Seize 2,259 Masks From Chinese National

At least 2,259 masks have been intercepted and seized by police at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe from a Chinese national.

Airport Police Department spokesperson Saplain Chitonde Lee confirmed identifying the Chinese National as Liu Rishan, 38 years old.

According to Police, Rishan was caught at the Airport when he was trying to export the Masks to China amidst the deadly Coronavirus.

Chitonde said Rishan was intercepted as he was about to board a flight with the masks to China with biscuits.

Following the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus in China, Malawi government issued a stop order temporarily restricting exportation of medical products including masks.
