Ras Chikomeni Chirwa set to present nominations papers to MEC

Independent Presidential Candidate Ras David Chikomeni Chirwa is set to present nomination papers to Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) ahead of fresh Presidential polls scheduled for July 2, 2020.

Chirwa arrived at Mount Soche together with his mother who also happens to be his runningmate in the fresh Presidential polls.

In the May 21, 2019 Ras Chikomeni Chirwa was disqualified by MEC for failing to meet some of the electoral requirements.

Ras Chikomeni Chirwa failed to raise the MK1 million nomination fees set by MEC and he also failed to collect 10 signatures from nominees from 10 districts.

Meanwhile it is not known as to whether Ras Chikomeni Chirwa has now fulfilled all the requirements set by MEC.
