PAC urges presidential candidates to accept election results

Public Affairs Committee (PAC), has asked presidential candidates in tomorrows election to accept the results even if  the victory does not go into their favor.

According to PAC Chairperson Patrick Thawale and Publicity Secretary Emmanuel Matonga in a statement warned presidential candidates and their followers against plotting violence during election and after the election.

The statement added that it is time for Malawi to move on as such, all three candidates should accept the results of the election.

“No presidential candidate should bent on causing anarchy in this country. Let freedoms enjoyed by Malawians remain a daughter of Justice,” reads part of the statement.

“Imposed leadership, whether from opposition or ruling party, will strongly be resisted should the leaders in the race decide to deliberately disturb law or order,” continued the statement.

Malawians will cast their votes tommorrow for president after High Court in Lilongwe nullified 2019 presidential election saying it had many irregularities.
