No One Came To Student’s Graduation, So His Teacher Took Him Out To Dinner And Bought Him A Car

What appeared to be a lonesome graduation celebration for a youngster in Alabama, became an amazing opportunity for him to form a closer bond with his teacher.

Now, the teacher in question is doing everything in his power to get his student a car that will give him a boost for his future.

Recently, Bessemer City High School held its yearly graduation ceremony and Dominique Moore was one of the teachers who were coordinating the event. After the ceremony, Dom was tidying up and almost everyone had left to celebrate with friends and family, except for one lonely man.

“I know his moods and I knew he wasn’t himself,” Dom told AL.com. “I asked him, ‘Where are your people?’ and he was like, ‘Nobody’s here.”

Unsure of how to proceed, Dom told him:

“I expect big things from you and it’s going to be OK.”

The teacher believed that someone would maybe show up at some point to give the boy a ride home. But no one came.

And when Dom offered to drive him, neither of them had thought that this would become much more than just a simple drop-off.

Dom decided to take the graduate for a meal at a restaurant of his choosing and the two ended up at the Cheesecake Factory, where they had a great time celebrating his accomplishment.

In the beginning, the two couldn’t control their tears, but not long after, they were having a blast together. The teacher never approached the question of why nobody attended his ceremony. What was more important to him was that the boy felt appreciated for what he had achieved.

Eventually, Dom decided to share a picture the two took together with some of his thoughts on what had happened.

He says he does not usually make posts about such things, as they happen often, but this time something pushed him to make an exception.

And in his post, he included his Cash App ID ($mooredaeducator), for anyone who may want to contribute to brightening this young man’s day.

And in no time, kind-spirited people from all over sent thousands of dollars in donations. Afterward, dom took the boy to open a fresh bank account with the money and also bought him a new car.

And people loved it!

Valarie Louise Gilley commented:

God bless you Dom and this young man. I read the story on Good News Network. What you have done for this young man has set him for a bright future. I am so overwhelmed and touched by all you have done. You are an amazing teacher!

Melanie Kaye What said:

What an incredible leader this teacher is and an equally impressive student. This graduate is going to succeed and be there for every moment when he has his own kids in the future. Resilience is not a trait that everyone has but it’s one that can lift you in life. You two are a gift to this world. Beautiful story.

And another Facebook user named Deborah Levine Siegfried wrote:

What a gift you are to this young man, congratulations to him and may he continue to receive blessings and know how worthy he is…faith in humanity restored, thank you for sharing this heartwarming story, id like to donate, is there a go fund me page…Thank you..
