Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiative (CDEDI) has given State president Lazarus Chakwera 48 hours to apologies to Malawians for not following Covid-19 restrictions.
Executive Director for the organization Sylvester Namiwa is currently addressing the media in Lilongwe.
According to Namiwa, Chakwera is being a hypocrite for failing to honor rules gazzeted by his own administration.
On Wednesday, Chakwera attended the burial of one of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) old guards in Blantyre, Roseby Dinala, where the gathering restriction to 50 people was defied.
Namiwa has however blamed Chakwera for not walking the talk on Covid-19 preventive measures.
He (Namiwa) is also calling for a total withdrawal of the gazetted measures by government arguing that those in authority are not ready to adhere to the same
