16-year-old boy arrested for chopping off 18-year-old boy’ head

South Africa police in Pampierstand in the Northern Cape have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection to the discovery of a beheaded body of another boy aged 18.

In the early hours of Sunday 13 September, the police were called to a scene where a beheaded body of an 18-year-old boy was found dumped in a water pipe just outside town.

“A preliminary investigation led the police to a shanty where the head was found hidden under a bed. A 16-year-old boy is arrested and expected to appear before Pampierstad Magistrates Court,” police said in a statement.

“It is not clear at this stage as to what led to this gruesome act,” police added.

Meanwhile, police in the area have appealed to the public to feed them with any information relating to the incident.
