17 Indians In Cooler For Overstaying

Date:

The Immigration Office (Central Region) in Lilongwe has arrested 17 Indian nationals working for Shayona Cement Company at its factory in Kasungu for illegal stay.
Spokesperson for the office, Ealack Banda, said the indians had been given 30 days to stay, with a condition that they would have to extend their stay before the 30 days elapse should they wish to stay longer.
Banda however said the 17 overstayed, despite getting short term employment permits.
They are expected to pay tomorrow an overstay fine of $125 per day, according to the days they overstayed.
