Angry villagers in Nkhata-Bay protest installation of Baden Banda as TA Mankhambira

Villagers from Sanga in Nkhata-Bay have taken to the street to protest the installation of Baden Banda as Traditional Authority Mankhambira.

Banda was crowned by Minister of Local Government, Lingson Belekanyama, last Thursday at Ching’oma Forest in the district.

The villagers want Vutani Kondowe to be at the helm.

The protesters who are carrying tree branches are marching to the District Commissioner’s office to present a petition on the matter.

Effort to talk to spokesperson in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development proved futile.
