Criminals on the run after injuring, robbing motorist in Dowa

Police in Dowa are searching for unknown criminals who have injured and robbed of a motorcycle belonging to Alick Tembo in the early hours of Tuesday at Kongwe Forest Reserve.

According to Dowa Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Sub Inspector Gladson M’bumpha, the victim together with his two relatives left Lumbadzi for Mwansambo on a motorcycle.

“When they reached at Kongwe Forest Reserve, he was attacked by unknown criminals. The other two relatives (pillion passengers) ran away when the victim was wrestling with the thugs. In the process, the victim sustained head injuries and the motorcycle was stolen. The value of the stolen motorcycle is not yet established, ‘ said M’bumpha.

Police visited the scene and they have since launched a manhunt for the culprits as the victim is still admitted at Dowa District Hospital where he was taken to seek medical attention.
