Child Rapist Flees Hospital After Learning His 11-Year-Old ‘Victim’ Is Pregnant

A Louisiana man has been accused of raping an 11-year-old girl and abandoning the child at a hospital after learning she was pregnant.

34-year-old Wendell Sanchez brought the victim to an emergency room Sunday night, October 18, after she complained of abdominal pains, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

When hospital staff learned the child was pregnant and that Sanchez was likely the father, they called police to report the molestation of a child.  As soon as authorities arrived at the hospital, Sanchez, who had been waiting in his car outside, fled the scene to a nearby apartment complex, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The cops later found him hiding on a patio in possession of illegal narcotics, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Sanchez was arrested and charged with nearly a dozen criminal counts, including first-degree rape with a victim under the age of 13, resisting an officer, drug possession, and criminal trespass, among others.

He was booked into the Ascension Parish Jail, where he is being held on a $540,000 bond.
