Karonga-Chitipa Cultural Heritage (KACP) have condemned the murder of two Chinese nationals and a Malawian in Karonga saying the behavior doesn’t auger with the Tradition, custom and values of the people of Karonga.
In its press statement issued on Wednesday signed by its Patron Dr. Paramount Chief Kyungu and it’s Secretary Alfred Mwambila says it’s sad that the incident comes when people of Karonga and Chitipa need investment in a peaceful environment after almost one year of business destruction due to demonstration and covid-19.
“We appeal to Malawi Police Service to investigate the matter with the expedience it deserve and assure Malawians and foreigners alike of their security,” reads part of the statement
KACP has since underscored the need for collaborated efforts among the police, traditional and civic education leaders, community and organizations to ensure the attainment of secure and peaceful communities.
