Vendors Asking Govt Not To Extradite Bushiri, Wife

Vendors in Lilongwe are calling for government not to give up leader of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Prophetess Mary Bushiri to the South African government.

The call has been made following the official communication from the Rainbow Nation asking the Malawian Government to have Bushiri and his wife extradited.

According to the vendors, the couple should be tried here in Malawi arguing that the couple is likely not to have a fair trial in South Africa.

Bushiri is said to have a good relationship with vendors in the capital city as he once helped them out.

Meanwhile, Bushiri and his wife are expected to appear before court in Lilongwe for the hearing of their bail application.

The police has boosted up security around the court premises as several people have flocked to the court to cheer up the couple.
