Chakwera Assessing His Cabinet, Underperforming Ministers to Be Fired

State House has said President Lazarus Chakwera is still monitoring and assessing the performance of Cabinet Ministers and is expected to fire incompetent Ministers upon the expiry of their five months in office as promised.

This has been said on Monday at Sanjika Palace by Presidential Spokesperson Brian Banda during the weekly press briefing.

In his speech during the swearing in of Ministers, Chakwera challenged them to serve Malawians diligently and that they should be presenting reports of their work to the populace.

Responding to a question during the 13th edition of the Weekly brief at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre on Monday, presidential press secretary, Brian Banda said Chakwera’s promise still stand and at an appropriate time he will assess the Ministers.

“According to the President’s speech, he is not going to spare non-performing ministers,” Banda said.

Immediately after their appointment ministers have been seen moving up and down ensuring that they are in line with their job and are doing what they were called to serve.

However, Malawians have been questioning the role of some ministers adding that they are only consume taxes of Malawians.
