Mangochi Councilor Returns To UDF 3 Months After Joining UTM

In a dramatic twist of events newly recruited United Transformation Movement (UTM) party councilor for Thundu ward in Mangochi, Coaster Bwanali has dumped the party and has announced his return to United Democratic Front (UDF).

Bwanali confided in Nyanja Online about his decision to rejoin the yellow brand.

The councilor claims continuing being in UTM is seating on untimely bomb as the party want to kill him politically.

“I Joined UTM on 3 September last year together with my supporters who exceeded 300 at the event. Since then up to now UTM has never called me as a councilor even on a single day to find out how the ward is progressing,” Said Bwanali.

Adding “I am aware that they have been holding meetings at the Mangochi Office but they have never called me which shows the house does not recognize me.”

When quizzed why returning to UDF which seems to be in the doldrums.

Bwanali said though UDF has some hiccups the party’s structure are vibrant unlike UTM.

“UDF structures are vibrant and the party recognizes its people hence my decision to return to my roots,” Highlighted Bwanali.

The estranged councilor has described his 5 months and 18 days stay in UTM as wasted time.

Several attempts to speak to UTM secretary general, Patricia Kaliati proved futile as her official mobile phone was out of reach.

Bwanali was elected councilor for Thundu ward in Mangochi during the 2019 general elections on a UDF ticket.
