PP Mourns John Chikalimba

Peoples Party (PP) has expressed shock following the passing of its Member of Parliament John Chikalimba who died yesterday at Zomba Central Hospital.

Until his death, Chikalimba was a serving Legislator for Zomba Changalume Constituency.

According to a statement from PP signed by Ackson Kalaile Banda, the Party’s publicist, the whole leadership of PP starting from its Leader, former president Joyce Banda are saddened by the death of Chikalimba.

PP described Chikalimba as “an eminent Politician”.

“The Party is deeply saddened for losing an eminent politician whose contribution transcend his constituency and the party but was felt nationally,” read part of the statement.

The statement further added that the late Chikalimba played a national building role for many years especially at national political stage where he demonstrated mature leadership both in parliament and interparty level.

The remains of late Chikalimba are expected to be laid to rest today at his home village.
