Toyota Malawi has today donated assorted Covid-19 personal protective equipment (PPEs) to the Bingu National Stadium (BNS) Covid-19 response site worth K19.6 million.

The site is an extension for Kamuzu Central Hospital which is currently overwhelmed with Covid-19 admissions.

The donation comprises N95 face masks, disposable gowns, disposable gloves, hand sanitisers, liquid soaps, and pulse oximeters.

Toyota Malawi dealership manager Duncan Maboma said the donation is a commitment to Toyota Malawi’s corporate social responsibility in the area of health.

Kamuzu Central Hospital director Jonathan Ngoma praised Toyota Malawi for the gesture saying it will ease the pressure off the shoulders of the government and health workers at the Bingu National Stadium Covid-19 response facility.

Ngoma said the facility which is now almost ready, will officially start Covid-19 admissions on Saturday, January 30, 2021.
