Chimunthu Banda hails Pacific Group of companies for rehabilitating boreholes


Former speaker of the National Assembly who is also the member of Parliament for Nkhotakota North constituency Henry Chimunthu Banda has hailed the Pacific Group of companies on its borehole rehabilitation exercise targeting various constituencies across the country.

According to Chimunthu Banda his constituency is one of the constituencies that is currently benefiting from this initiative.

The pacific group of companies so far out of the 50 targeted broken boreholes has fixed about 30 broken boreholes in less than a week in Nkhotakota North constituency.

In an interview with face of Malawi online publication the former speaker of Malawi national assembly who is also the member of parliament for Nkhotakota North constituency Henry Chimunthu Banda was very delighted with the project.

Chimunthu Banda further said that the initiative is extremely vital as it is giving an opportunity for the members of parliament to identify all boreholes that are broken and partner with pacific group of companies to do the repairs.

Chimunthu Banda therefore said that actually in his area he had some boreholes that were out of service for a period of ten to 12 years.

However the former speaker of the national assembly said that the coming in of the pacific group of companies has served them.

Chimunthu Banda added that the pacific group has experienced people who are doing a very commendable job in borehole rehabilitation exercise.

He also went further to say that Malawi is blessed to have pacific as a company in Malawi who have the good of Malawian at heart.

Chimunthu Banda therefore said that before this project people were walking very long distances in searching for portable water.

In this regard he reasoned that their right to access for a clean water was infringed.

In his remarks James Nsusa team leader for the pacific group of companies borehole rehabilitation exercise said that the group is committed in ensuring that the people that are in rural areas have access for clean water.

Therefore Nsusa said that in Nkhotakota North constituency their are expecting to fix about 50 boreholes.

So far the pacific group of companies has repaired about 30 boreholes in less than a week.

The pacific group of companies across the country to date has fixed over 3,300 boreholes serving more than a trillion hours in search of clean water.
