Families Displaced In Mchinji

Almost one hundred families have been displaced in the area of Sub-Traditional Authority Chimwala in Mchinji District due to heavy rainfall which resulted into floods.

The district’s Relief and Rehabilitation officer Violet Jimu confirmed of the development.

According to Jimu the total number of households that have been affected is estimated to two hundred and fifty.

Meanwhile, the families that have displaced are seeking shelter at Balitse Primary School in the district.

The people hail from Jekemu, Tseketse, Kapazira, Mandowa and Kumkwala villages.
