HEALTH WORKERS BEMOANS ESCOM TRANSFORMER AT CHIPUMI HEALTH CENTRE

Chipumi health Centre in Mchinji is operating without electricity and piped water for over a month now, following a faulty Electricity Supply Cooperation of Malawi [ESCOM] transformer at the facility.

This is after an ESCOM transformer got burst.

Meanwhile the problem has affected operations in the labor ward as expectant women are being treated in the dark and without water.

Director of Health and social services for Mchinji Dr. Juliana Kanyengambeta has confirmed about the issue.

Kanyengambeta has acknowledged the problem but said the matter was reported to ESCOM officials and are yet to fix it.
