MEC ENGAGES THE MEDIA ON CONSTITUENCY AND WARD BOUNDARY REVIEW

Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) is this morning holding a meeting in Lilongwe with media managers on the review and determination of constituency and ward boundaries.

According to the MEC Chair Dr. Chifundo Kachale, the review and determination of constituency and ward boundaries will ensure that constituency and ward boundaries are in conformity with the law.

The review will among others ensure that constituencies have an equal number of voters eligible to vote.

Kachale indicates that after calculations constituencies will have about 50, 117 voters.

This may however vary depending on the population density.
