The Mkukula First Grade Magistrate’s Court on Monday, June 7, 2021 convicted and sentenced a 33 year old female driver Misozi Kankhande Bonongwe to pay K300, 000 for causing death due to reckless driving in Lumbadzi, Lilongwe.
The court ordered that K100, 000 should be compensated to the deceased’s family.
Meanwhile, Kankhande has since paid the fine to escape jail terms.
Misozi hails from Chantulo Village, Traditional Authority Nankhumba in Mangochi district.
Police in Lumbadzi are therefore appealing to all road users including motorists to adhere to road safety regulations to avoid similar accidents.
