The country today joined the rest of the World in commemorating World Refugee Day .
In Malawi, the event was held at Dowa Community Ground under the theme “Together We Heal, Learn and Shine”
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees(UNHCR) Country Representative, Kouame Cyr Modeste, attended the ceremony
He has however, appealed to government of Malawi to include refugees and asylum seekers in its national agenda such as socioeconomic activities saying refugees are not a threat.
This follows an order from Malawi government that all refugees and asylum seekers living outside the Dzaleka Refugees Camp return to the Camp .
