Zomba DC sends out members of the council for not wearing masks

District commissioner for Zomba Dr Smart Gwedemula on Saturday sent out some members of district council who were attending an extraordinary full council meeting for not wearing masks.

Dr Gwedemula said members of the council must portray a good example now that the country is fighting the third wave of covid 19 which has and continue to claim many lives.

The full council elected Councillor Michael Khwilipa as Chairperson of the Council.

Councillor Khwilipa won the election with 14 votes beating contenders Councillor January and Councillor Brazilio who got 4 and 5 votes respectively.

Some Councillors were seen out side the chamber searching for the masks.
