No mask no movement hits Mwanza

Police in Mwanza have launched a campaign to stop the further spread of Covid-19 in the border district by implementing a ‘No mask, no movement day’ today Thursday.

Hope Kasakula, Police Spokesperson for Mwanza has confirmed of the development in an interview with the state controlled Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC).

According to Kasakula, police officers are everywhere to ensure that people are wearing masks.

“Being a border district, the risks of COVID-19 are very high, and there is need to reduce chances of it’s spread”, he said.

Over 800 Malawians have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours with 26 fatalities.
