A 17-year-old boy was allegedly brutally thrashed by his girlfriend’s family and his genitals were also chopped off by them. Reportedly, the teen was subjected to assault after the girl’s family learned about their affair.
The teen was identified as Saurabh Kumar. A resident of Repura Rampurshah village that falls under the limits of the Kanti police station, Kumar was a neighbour of the girl.
When the relatives of the girl saw the two of them together, her relatives allegedly thrashed him brutally. When the teenager’s family members learned about his death, they attacked the accused person’s house. Reportedly, the teen’s family members allegedly performed his funeral in front of the accused’s house on Saturday.
Rajesh Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Muzaffarpur (City) told news agency ANI, “Prima facie shows that the boy was killed over an alleged love affair. He was beaten and his genitals were cut off. A postmortem is being done and further details about the injuries will be revealed after the report comes. ”
After the incident, the police registered an FIR. The police arrested Sushant Pandey alias Vijay Kumar when they learned about the case. Three persons, identified as Ashok Thakur, Ranjit Kumar, and Mukesh Kumar were nabbed for attacking the prime accused’s house.
An official privy to the case said, “There is an atmosphere of tension in the village after the incident, so as a precautionary measure, police are patrolling the area. The relatives of the deceased have been assured of speedy action. ”
