Two people arrested for using unpalatable words to an Albino woman

Police in Kasungu have arrested Joseph Ng’oma, 18 and Mahamudu Ajusi, 18 for allegedly using words that would bring fear to a person with albinism.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer for Kasungu, Miracle Mkozi, said this happened on August,3 ,2021 at Chatoloma Trading Centre around 5pm.

She said on this day, the husband of the victim, Thomas Mongoti, was at a liquor shop chatting with the suspects but in the course, the two suspects told him that he was rich in the sense that his wife is a person with albinism.

Mkozi said this statement suprised Thomas, who immediately alerted his wife and in turn reported to Police who followed up and arrested the suspects.

The suspects will appear in court soon to answer the charges levelled against them.
