CSO Demands Cancellation Of Contract Awarded To Mota Engil

The Centre for Mindset Change is calling for the cancellation of a contract awarded to Mota Engil for the rehabilitation of a railway line in Nsanje District.

Chairperson for the grouping, Philip Kamangira, alleges that the company was awarded the contract dubiously and that they have failed to complete most of their projects despite being fully paid.

Kamangira further highlights that the company was awarded the contract using single sourcing instead of open tendering process.

The grouping has since given the Ministry of Transport a 7-day ultimatum to rescind its decision or they will commence legal actions against the ministry.
