Police in Mzimba have launched a manhunt for unknown people who have stabbed to death a woman at Luwerezi in the district.
Northern Region Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, Augustus Nkhwazi has confirmed of the development and identified the deceased as Ilenga Mvula, 75.
According to Nkhwazi, the incident happened in the wee hours of Tuesday and the body was discovered by a passerby around 5am.
“We have launched a serious manhunt over the brutal murder to track down and capture the perpetrators of this crime,” he said.
Nkhwazi said the deceased was found with two big stab wounds on the cheek and broken skull.
Mvula hails from Kagungu Gondwe Village in Mzimba.
