There seems to be no end to crimes against women across the country. In a fresh incident, a woman was brutally assaulted by her husband in the presence of family members in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. The gut-wrenching video of the woman’s brutal thrashing has gone viral on social media. The incident took place some days ago, said police.
The woman was again allegedly thrashed by her husband on Sunday and she later succumbed to her injuries. The woman’s husband and other family members are absconding after the incident. There have been no arrests so far in the case.
In the first video of the assault, the woman could be seen in a confused mental state and calling out for her mother.
The blood could also be seen coming out of the woman’s mouth as a result of the beating, according to a report in NDTV online
In another video of the incident, the victim could be seen lying on a cot with her mouth frothing. In another shot, a hand pours water in her mouth saying, ‘don’t beat her so badly’.
The victim’s sister has released the purported videos to the media. It is not clear who shot these videos.
According to Bulandshahr Police statement on Twitter, the first assault took place at the house of the victim’s relative some days back. Police claimed the woman again went on to live with the man before her murder on Sunday.
However, police have not said when the assault on the woman took place and didn’t clarify as to why the family members didn’t intervene if the assault happened at the house of one of her relatives.
Police have said the main accused in the assault case has been identified as Hashim, who is the husband of the woman. Based on a complaint from the victim’s father, the police have filed a case of dowry harassment and murder.
