Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of Enlighten Christian Gathering (ECG) church has trashed social media reports claiming that he will contest for presidency in 2025 general election.
Over the weekend social media was flooded with a circular purportedly from Prophet Bushiri informing his followers that is joining frontline politics.
In the circular, Bushiri promised to change the economy of the country.
But Bushiri’s Public Relations Officer Ephraim Nyondo trashed the circular, describing it as fake.
“The Prophet is not a politician and, as he has always been saying, he has no interest in pursuing a political route. His interest is in serving God and so he will remain.
“It must also be underlined that the Prophet respects the current administration and, as a man of God, he always prays for the President and the entire leadership,” wrote Nyondo.
Recently analysts urged President Dr. lazarus Chakwera to incorporate Bushiri with an aim of boosting the tourism sector in the country.
The call followed the ECG Salvation Festival held in Salima which attracted thousands of people from across the world.
