Anne Muluzi’s body to arrive in Malawi on Tuesday, burial Thursday

The body former first lady Anne Muluzi and ex-wife to former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi will arrive in the country on Tuesday from Kenya.

Son to late Anne Muluzi, Atupele who is also President of the United Democratic Front (UDF) has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by this publication.

“This is to inform friends that the Funeral House in Kenya was not able to secure the death certificate as anticipated on Friday 31st December and it is hoped that the certificate will be secured on Monday 3rd January, 2022.

“This being the case efforts are being made to secure a flight on Tuesday 4th January, 2022. Arrival at the airport all things being equal will be on Tuesday at noon, the Body will lay in state on Wednesday at Msinja and burial will be on Thursday 6th January 2022,” wrote Atupele.

Added Atupele: “Should a flight not be secured on Tuesday and depart on Wednesday then the whole program shall then move by a day. The official funeral program will be announced by Government.”
