DPP Drama:Botoman chides Msaka, Mwanamvekha for pulling out of Nankhumwa’s Shadow Cabinet

Opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Shadow Minister of Information and Digitalization Mark Botoman has lambasted Bright Msaka and Joseph Mwanamveka for pulling out of the Shadow Cabinet appointed by leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa.

Nankhumwa named the 33 Shadow Cabinet last week where he appointed Mwanamvekha, Member of Parliament for Chiradzulu South as Minister of Finance while Msaka as MP for Machinga Likwenu as Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

But the two have resigned from the posts.

Speaking in an interview with the press Botoman claimed the two actually pleaded with Nankhumwa to be included in the Shadow Cabinet.

He then said was therefore surprised with the legislators’ withdrawal from the cabinet while claiming he saw it coming.

The two are yet to comment on the matter.

DPP is currently rocked in leadership crisis with some of the top officials calling for an early convention to replace the party President Peter Mutharika.

The disgruntled DPP officials claim that Mutharika is too old.

But Mutharika has trashed the claims on several times.

He said he will resign from the position after the convention in 2023.
