Mtima Gondwe’s camp blasts Chakwera again for appointing Joseph Bongololo as Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe

Chiefs supporting Mtima Gondwe has described President Lazarus Chakwera’s decision to approve Joseph Bongololo as Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe as unjustified since it lacks outstanding cultural aspects.

Principal Group Village Headman, Hunga Gondwe has told journalists in Mzuzu on Wednesday that they are challenging the approval of the President’s decision.

The Mtima Gondwe’s camp has since threatened to hold a parallel installation event of Mtima Gondwe as Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe.

The Chiefs said they intend to hold their event on the day government will be installing Bongololo Gondwe as leader of the Tumbuka people.

Chakwera approved appointment of Joseph Bongololo as Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe of Tumbuka people of Rumphi last month.
