The Malawi congress Party (MCP) has fired its vocal and outspoken ember Alex Major who was leading the group of disgruntled MPC grouping called The General Membership of Malawi Congress Party.
Confirming Major’s firing from the party, MCP officials say Major undermined President Lazarus Chakwera’s super Hi5 and he is failing to align himself with the party’s four cornerstone.
Adding to that, Major is being accused of questioning the party’s critical issues and government’s handling of governance matters.
When asked to comment on the matter, Major denied. However, the party’s spokesperson Reverend Maurice Munthali says he is waiting on the party’s secretary general Eisenhower Mkaka before commenting.
Major has been making headlines for the past months accusing the Chakwera leadership of failing to lead the MCP.
Just this week he was again in the news for allegedly fighting with the party’s leadership on a venue for his planned media briefing.
