Self-acclaimed public lawyers for the public court of opinions Chilufya Tayali is calling for Mary Chirwa, Director General of Zambia’s Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) to step aside after her alleged bedroom videos and pictures were leaked online.
According to Tayali, the leakage of the said nasty materials will compromise her dignity as the DEC chief.
According to Tayali, no matter how Chirwa denies being the one in the video, the truth remains that she is the one.

Earlier on, I thought she should stay as DEC boss, but I had a phone conversation with someone who made a good point, causing me to change my position.
Firstly, I want to say, I know Mary Chirwa, personally, so I have been restrained to discuss the matter fully. However, we must be objective and patriotic.
If I can stand against Bowman and Bokani Soko whom I have benefited from, why should I look the other way on Mary Chirwa. It’s about principle and truth.
As a person that I know, I have no doubt, that is Mary Chirwa in those videos and I challenge her to deny that she is not the one.
If President Hichilema is doubting let him call me and I will clear his doubts. Mary cannot continue living a lie. She can cheat the nation but not us who knows her.
Having said that, I think the right thing for her to do is to resign other than counting on the protection she is getting from State House and their praise singers.
Those videos would take Mary Chirwa to jail but if she is protected by State House and the UPND Government, she will become their puppet whom they can control WILLY-NELLY, because she owes them.
With those videos, Mary Chirwa can’t inspire confidence in the General public in as far as DEC is concerned. But why should the entire institution be sacrificed for one person.
The best that Mary Chirwa should do is resign otherwise we will keep talking and more rot will come out.
She should not claim to be Holier than thou when a lot of us knows so much. Let her resign.ary Chirwa, Chilufya Tayali
