A 31-year-old woman from Kazungula district in Zambia was reportedly gang-raped in a cemetery by three men after boarding a vehicle following the Mosi Day of Thunder event in Livingstone.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police, Auxensio Daka, shared that the incident occurred on 26th April, 2025, around 23:00 hours.
The victim had left the event venue to meet friends and boarded an unidentified black private vehicle with three male occupants.
Instead of taking her to her destination, the driver diverted along Nakatindi Road, where the victim was assaulted and later forced out of the vehicle at Nakatindi Cemetery.
She was raped by the three men, who fled the scene. The victim reported the matter to the police the next day, describing one suspect as slim, dark-complexioned, with dreadlocks, reddish eyes, and wearing a black Mosi Thunder T-shirt.
A medical report form has been issued, and investigations are ongoing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
