High Court in Lilongwe has adjourned the case involving former Reserve Bank Governor Dalitso Kabambe, former Minister of Finance Joseph Mwanamvekha, and others to May 8, 2025.
The court has reserved its ruling on whether Mwanamvekha, who was discharged from the case in February 2024, should be reinstated.
The court has also dismissed an application by Kabambe that proceedings should stop, arguing that other Reserve Bank of Malawi board members should have also been included in the charges.
Kabambe, Mwanamvekha, former Deputy Governor, Henry Mathanga, and former Secretary to the Treasury, Cliff Chiunda are facing charges related to unauthorized expenditure and concealment of public funds amounting to $350 million.
