Nigerian National Nabbed Over Drugs

Nigerian national, Odii Chukwuma Emeka, arrested for what now appears to be a serious drug syndicate in the capital, Lilongwe.

He has been nabbed just a few days after police in the city arrested his fellow, Chima Okoyi, over a similar offence.

Lilongwe Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu says they arrested 39-year-old Emeka in Chilinde Township for being found in possession of two blisters of illicit drugs suspected to be Cocaine.

He adds the suspect is a resident of Biwi Township in the city.

Chigalu says their detectives went undercover after learning that the suspect was heading for Chilinde Township to do the business.

“Just before he could finally make business with the potential client, Emeka found himself in the hands of police detectives. Upon searching his hand bag, he was found with two blisters of the suspected cocaine wrapped,” explains Chigalu.

The drugs will be sent to Pharmacy, Medicines and Regulatory Authority for analysis and the suspect will appear in court soon to answer a case of Found in Possession of Dangerous Drugs which contravenes Regulation 4A as Read with section 19(1) of Dangerous Drugs Act.
