ACB to arrest Mutharika, Wife

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is haunting for former President Peter Mutharika, former First Lady Gertrude Mutharika and son Tadikila over abuse of Presidential duty-free privileges.

The development follows a move by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Steven Kayuni to allow the ACB to proceed in prosecuting the three.

This has been confirmed in an article carried by Nation Publications Limited of November 11, 2022 titled “APM, Wife face arrest, prosecution.”

In the article, the newspaper alleges that Kayuni has also asked ACB Director General Martha Chizuma to withdraw former bodyguard of Mutharika, Norman Chisale as key witnesses in the taxpayer identification number (Tpin) case.

But Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Councillor for Blantyre City Soche East Leonard Chimbanga has warned the ACB from proceeding with the arrest.

“Try it,” wrote Chimbanga on his official facebook page.

Meanwhile, Mutharika is expected to comment on the matter this afternoon when addressing Malawians from Mangochi.
