CDEDI asks Chakwera to look into the decision of revoking citizenship of 396 Rwandan and Burundi nationls

The Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI), has pleaded with President Lazarus Chakwera to rescind decision of revoking the citizenship for 396 Rwandan and Burundian Nationals.

This comes barely a day after Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma announced revocation of the citizenship for the said nationals.

Sylvester Namiwa Executive Director for CDEDI pleaded with Chakwera to intervene and rescind the decision arguing that the people were making positive contributions towards healing the country’s ailing economy.

According to Namiwa they are also demanding Ministry of Homeland Security to disclose as in how much has been spent on forced relocation exercise underway for refugees and asylum seekers to Dzaleka camp.
