A 25-year-old man Chris Mbewe has been arrested in Chikwawa for allegedly harassing his ex-girlfriend by sharing ponographic contents and insulting a woman on social media.
District police spokespperson Dickson Matemba said the victim told police that the two had been dating for eleven months.
In the process of dating, the suspect asked his girlfriend to appear at his parent’s home and when the girl asked for transport from the suspect, he told her to borrow which the girl denied.
The denial did not please the boyfriend who started insulting her with obscene langauge on WhatsApp and warned the girlfriend that he will share the phonographic pictures on social media which he did up to the extent of sending to the girl’s father.
Upon receipt of the complaint, police launched a manhunt and managed to arrest the suspect.
Mbewe comes from Julius Village in the area of Traditional Authority Katunga in Chikwawa District.
