Police launch man hunt for unknown criminals over murder in Mzimba

Police at Jenda in Mzimba have launched a man haunt for unknown criminals who brutally murdered a 91-year-old Lyton Ndabandaba, by chopping off his private parts and spiking his eyes.

The incident occurred during the night of September 1, 2023 at Mqocha in Mzimba.

It is alleged that Lyton Ndabandaba, now deceased was staying alone as his wife died some years back, and during the night of September 01, 2023 around 23:00 hours his grand daughter heard him screaming out loud calling her name. she rushed to the house where she found the victim lying in agony, his private parts chopped off and the eyes pierced.

She called for help from her uncle and the victim was taken to Mqocha police Unit where they were sent to Jenda Rural Hospital and he was later referred to Mzimba District Hospital. Lyton died whilst receiving treatment .

Officers from Mqocha Police Unit and Jenda Police Station visited the crime scene where it was noted that there were signs of struggling as the man fought for his life.

Post-mortem conducted at the district hospital revealed that the man died due to shock from severe loss of blood secondary to chopping off his private parts.

Investigations are under way to trace and apprehend these unknown criminals.

Jenda police condemns such ferocious acts to the elderly and it will see to it that the people involved are brought to justice.

Lyton Ndabandaba hailed from Mkondowanjovu Ndabandaba Village, Traditional Authority M’mbelwa in Mzimba District.
